Teachers are normally paid a fixed salary based on your years of service and higher degrees. Under a repayment plan based on performance, however, teachers are paid on a scale of additional bonuses based on performance of students. The issue of changing the educational system in the United States to a payment plan based on performance has been a hot topic for years.

As per to the Milken Family Foundation, performance - pay plans have been tried over the years. The foundation sites instances from London earlier as 1710 as well as Canada in 1876. The idea originated in the United States in 1969 and since then has periodically attempted explosions usually of short duration.
