Taiwan tries to Draw California's Taiwanese American Students to its Universities

California's Taiwanese American Students Wei-Ling Chiang, Taiwan's education minister travelled to California last week to attend a rare discussion on imbalance in trade with United States. While addressing the discussion he said that only 3,561 American-students get enrolled in Taiwan's universities while 24,000 Taiwanese students get enrolled in the universities of United States. The situation really needs to be addressed now, he added.

Udacity Snags $15 Million from Andreessen Horowitz

Udacity Snags $15 MillionUdacity, the digital university raised $15 million in Series B, an investment round led by a venture capital firm, Andreessen Horowitz along with existing investors Steve Blank and Charles River Ventures. The organization offers free online courses in Mathematics, Computer Science, Programming and Entrepreneurship, and General Sciences to students who don't have finance, time, inclination or access to study in a traditional university setting.
