The Air Academy-Semizone Six Sigma training program is comprised of 14 courses and various knowledge assessment tests. These 14 courses can be taken individually (for certificates of completion and continuing education units) or they can be combined in a package that can result in a Green Belt (GB) or Black Belt (BB) Certificate of Completion or Certification Diploma (the latter for Certified Green Belts and Certified Black Belts).

The first 7 courses constitute the Green Belt curriculum, and the entire set of 14 courses (the 7 GB courses plus 7 more courses) form the Black Belt curriculum. An individual can pursue either a Certificate of Completion program or a Certification Diploma program for either Green Belt or Black Belt. The Certificate of Completion program requires successfully completing the courses and the associated online tests for each course, as well as an overall knowledge assessment of the curriculum (Green Belt or Black Belt) for which one desires a Certificate of Completion or Certification Diploma. The Certificate Programs do not have project requirements and do not result in the Certified Green Belt or Certified Black Belt certifications.

The Green Belt and Black Belt Certification Programs (Certified Green Belt and Certified Black Belt) require that an individual complete the course tests and knowledge assessment vehicles just described and also complete a project. Thus, Certification Diploma (Certified Green Belt and Certified Black Belt) is effectively equivalent to Certificate of Completion + Successful Project Work. The certification project must satisfy all documentation requirements, both in written and oral format-to include validated financial benefits, and must demonstrate the successful application of the Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, and Control (DMAIC) methodology. Certification Diploma requires that all necessary components be completed within one year of starting a program.

It is also possible to earn professional Continuing Education Units (CEUs) by successfully completing any course or combination of courses. This Six Sigma program provides the flexibility and the instructional / mentoring / delivery excellence needed to achieve the specific topical coverage and goals that any individual or organization might desire in a Six Sigma initiative.
